Why go to another hardware store? Exactly, you shouldn't! This is such a welcoming, helpful store. Every time I go in, they greet me and assist me to my aisle. Employees are experts in customer service! Plus, it's just a fun place for strolling the aisles. They have such a collection! Please support this local business!

I took in a chain to sharpen for my saw. When I picked it up, Tim came out to explain the reason it took a little longer as some of the links were "corroded" and did not move as they should so he soaked it in mineral oil for a few days before sharpening. I really appreciated the attention to detail and Tim coming out in person to talk with me. Great customer service! Thank you

This store feels like home. Specifically my grandparents love it and go there often, especially in the summer. The staff is kind and helpful. Also, the store is clean, organized and has a good variety of items.

I am so happy to now live closer to the McDaniel's Do It Center. Even when I lived in Kenmore I would still go to this very well supplied hardware store. All the employees seem to be so well educated on the products and they will assist you in finding ALL that you need. Owner operated businesses care MOST about their patrons as they have the most to gain (or lose). Big corporate hardware stores are nice and all but you wont get near the service you get at McDaniel's. I have never done this before but I honestly feel like I could just go in and hand them my list and they will say "LET'S DO THIS". They really are the BEST....thank you also for serving your community.

I can't say enough nice things about this place. Years of going to big box stores had made me forget that a hardware store should be a good experience. Full of friendly and helpful folks that are available to answer questions. They actually have the supplies a home owner needs in stock. In usable quantities as opposed to having to order a pallet and return the unused amount. They also have kitchen, hunting, and fishing goods. Now, when I say, "I'm going to hardware store to fix the sink," I can pick up a pole and get in some fishing on the way home

When we moved here recently we needed numerous items of plumbing, hardware, lawn care, electrical. I initially started going to Lowes and Home Depot. When I did go into McDaniels, I assumed from the many, proficient staff and great depth of inventory choices that it was one of the big city hardware stores where you pay a lot more and maybe get a bit more. But we have begun going first to McDaniels for all hardware needs, because (1) they consistently have more choices of bolts, plumbing repair parts, electrical repair/fixup, lawn care tools, (2) every few moments a floor person asks if I need help, (3) every single person who has helped me knows exactly where to find what I'm looking for, (4) when I want some item that is extra heavy duty, professional grade, I know they're more likely to have it than the big box stores. Totally different than the big box stores, I know when I walk into McDaniels that within 30 seconds a floor staffer will ask me what I need and help me find it, then help explain how to install it.

After a trip to Home Depot with no success resulting in greater confusion, I arrived at McDaniels Do it Center for the fix. I walked in as a first time customer with a seized faucet valve in hand. Kaden spotted me and honed in on my problem from across the store before I could start inquiring for parts and their plumbing specialist. The valve I inherited from my houses previous owner was no ordinary valve. This thing grasped the seized cartridge with commercial grade strength. No traditional home tooling or surface level internet knowledge could have attempted to set it free. Initially going through his bag of tricks, Kaden wasn't able to find the correct part, or free the seized cartridge from the valve. However determined as he was, he called in his expert who was able to identify the part within seconds from memory while on face time, and after rallying his troops at the store, rolled up his sleeves, went to the back, got out the blowtorch, extended the torque wrench and went to town opening the valve. The entire process took about 60 minutes. They all seemed to genuinely enjoy the process of helping me figure this valve out. I walked out of there with my valve working as new with the cartridge replaced. This store is a serious one stop shop if you are looking for professional in-store assistance with the needed parts and tooling at hand. Will definitely be making it a point to stop here for my future household needs.

This is a great place! I really appreciated the helpfulness and personable of the staff. We live in Fairbanks, AK and customer service is almost nonexistent. The staff at McDaniels far exceeded my expectations of customer service and made sure I was able to get exactly what I needed. Even when they did not carry the item I was looking for, they were quick to help me find other options nearby. Definitely recommend!

I was very impressed with your young employees. They were very friendly and helpful. Stores need to employ young people show a great work ethic.

This is a general hardware store where you can get all the things you need. Always find what I'm looking for at a reasonable price of compared to places like home Depot and Lowe's. They also have quality products, large hardware section for screws and bolts and nuts.
