Contractors and DIY enthusiasts can rely on its strong adhesion to materials like cedar, painted or stained wood, fiberglass, coated aluminum, steel, metal, brick, masonry, and concrete. However, it is important to note that this sealant should not be used for expansion joints, butt joints, polystyrene foam, polypropylene or polyethylene plastics, continuous water immersion, traffic-bearing surfaces, log homes, or inside occupied structures. For joints deeper than three-eighths of an inch, a backing material is recommended to maintain seal integrity.
